From Google Drive to DP Consulting: How WFA Became Part of Our DNA

But this journey didn’t start in a boardroom - it began with curiosity, tools, and ideas. Looking back, one of the first real shifts happened with the quiet arrival of Google Docs around 2008. Suddenly, working together no longer required being together. Documents lived in the cloud. Collaboration became instant, borderless, and asynchronous. Something had changed - and there was no going back.

Then came another spark.

In 2014, one of the early seeds of DPC | Work & Care from Anywhere was further nurtured by a powerful read in Harvard Business Review: 📄 The CEO of Automattic on Holding “Auditions” to Build a Strong Team, by Matt Mullenweg, CEO of Automattic (WordPress.com).

The article described how a fully distributed team - spread across 170+ cities - was thriving without relying on office walls. More than the hiring method, it was a line that stood out:

“I don’t care what hours you work… What do you actually produce?”

That question reframed how we viewed work, performance, and trust. Years later, it became a founding principle of how we think - and how we guide our clients.
